School Ambassador Programme

Become a school ambassador and help us raise awareness of children’s rights through fun activities in your classroom, at school and on social media.

What is the OCO’s School Ambassador Programme?

The OCO School Ambassador Programme will this year see us team up with 6th class from two primary schools and one CSPE class in first year of a secondary school to be our School Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors help us to raise awareness of children’s rights through fun activities in their classroom, at school and on our social media channels. This year we will have a special focus on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and why we want to see it made a part of Irish law.

This programme will run from October 2025 to June 2026. Email us to apply at communications@oco.ie

What is involved?

We are now looking for our OCO School Ambassadors for 2025/ 2026.

What our Ambassadors do

We will give you suggestions on how to create rights based activities in your classroom.

For example, this could be through artwork of your favourite right, writing a poem or rap about your favourite right or doing a story competition.

We also want to share your voices and opinions on topics on our social media channels.

We will liaise with the class teacher/ principal on putting together content for social media around important days like World Children’s Day, Seachtain na Gaeilge, Mental Health Week and International Day of Disabilities.

All activities will only be completed with the consent and assent of Parents and Children.
