OCO 10th anniversary

A celebration event marking the 10th anniversary of the Ombudsman for Children’s Office in Ireland.

What was it?

This was a celebration event marking the 10th anniversary of the Ombudsman for Children’s Office in Ireland that took place in Farmleigh House in 2014. It recognised the efforts made to improve children’s rights in Ireland over the previous decade and the event focused on the State’s relationship with children and families.

Who took part?

People with an interest in children’s rights were invited to come to the event and to look towards the future on what needed to change next in terms of our laws, institutions and culture to make sure children’s rights are made real for the next 10 years.

What else happened?

The www.itsyourright.ie project was launched to mark the OCO’s 10th anniversary. Two young musicians, Carla and Ellen kindly loaned us their song ‘Shield’ as a theme song for the itsyourright campaign and they also performed the song on the day to great applause.
