Parent & professional
Children’s rights are important and as a parent or professional who works with children, you play a role in making sure children’s rights are realised. Below is some information so you’re more aware of children’s rights and the work the OCO does.
Test your knowledge on children’s rights by playing our rights runner game!
OCO hearing the views of children and young people
Part of our role is to listen to and consult with children and young people about issues that concern them.
Access resources for educators and professionals; lesson plans, posters on children’s rights and our website for young people.
Policy and research
We give advice to the Government and others about individual laws, policies and decisions that affect children in Ireland.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
The UNCRC is a list of rights that every child and young person under the age of 18 has. The OCO is guided by the UNCRC.
