The Ombudsman for Children’s Office Covid Survey

Our nationwide survey on the views and experiences of children during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Ombudsman for Children’s Office are asking students across Ireland to take part in a nationwide survey on the views and experiences of children during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This online survey will take place during school time between 28th February and 11th March. It will feature 15 multiple choice questions and take around 10 minutes to complete.

Examples of the types of questions we will ask, include:

  • Overall, do you think that the Covid-19 pandemic has changed your life a lot, a little, not very much or not at all?
  • During the Covid-19 pandemic, how many days per week did you do any sports or exercise (either inside or outside of school)?

The aim of our survey is to gain a better understanding of, and insight into, children’s views and experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The OCO will produce a report based on the results of the survey. All information will be anonymous and no children will be identified.

All children and parents/guardians who take part will give assent and consent

If you're a principal who'd like your school to take part in our survey, email communications@oco.ie.
