In June 2022, the OCO published Plan for Places, Forward Planning for the Provision of Schools Places for Children with Special Educational Needs: A Children’s Rights Issue. Plan for Places set out a series of recommendations for the Department of Education which were focused on strengthening the forward planning process for children with special educational needs (‘SEN’)1 and accelerating Ireland’s progress towards a fully inclusive education system.

This is an update on that report and the recommendations.
