The European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC)<\/a> links independent offices for children from countries in Europe. Its aims are to encourage the fullest possible implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, support collective lobbying for children\u2019s rights, share information, approaches and strategies, and promote the development of effective independent offices for children.<\/p>\n

The ENOC \u201cAusterity Bites: Children\u2019s Voices<\/i>\u201d exhibition is currently on display (12 May-26 June 2015) in the premises of the Council of Europe (Agora and Palais Buildings) in Strasbourg. A special website dedicated to the austerity project and to the ongoing exhibition has been developed by the Council of Europe (CoE).<\/p>\n

The Council of Europe<\/a> is the continent\u2019s leading human rights organisation. It includes 47 member states, 28 of which are members of the European Union. All Council of Europe member states have signed up to the European Convention on Human Rights, a treaty designed to protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law.<\/p>\n

The programme \u201cBuilding a Europe for and with children\u201d was set up to secure and promote children\u2019s human rights, and to promote children from all forms of violence.<\/p>\n

The exhibition \u201cAusterity Bites: Children\u2019s Voices<\/i>\u201d is the result of a cooperation between the Council of Europe and the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children.<\/p>\n
