{"id":726,"date":"2016-10-19T08:59:07","date_gmt":"2016-10-19T08:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oco.ie\/?p=726"},"modified":"2018-01-09T18:11:05","modified_gmt":"2018-01-09T18:11:05","slug":"ombudsman-children-discusses-case-study-annual-report-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oco.ie\/ga\/news\/ombudsman-children-discusses-case-study-annual-report-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Ombudsman for Children discusses case study from Annual Report 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Ombudsman for Children, Dr Niall Muldoon discusses some of the cases detailed in Annual Report 2015 on the Today with Sean O\u2019Rourke Show<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2015 was another record year for the Ombudsman for Children\u2019s Office, with an 8% increase in the number of complaints received and successful interaction with 850 children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>The range of issues dealt with by the OCO emphasises that children\u2019s lives cannot be compartmentalised, that problems can be complicated and that cooperation between all departments is vital to solve problems.<\/p>\n<p>Niall outlines the impact the office has had in dealing with 1,639 complaints made by, or on behalf of children, across every sector.
