Meath, Louth, Offaly and Kerry took part in the OCO\u2019s\u00a0<strong><em>Its Your Right<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0project which includes a website as well as the interactive iPad App.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson Nikki Gallagher, said: \u201cThe OCO has a responsibility to promote children\u2019s rights among the public including with children directly. We also have a mandate to listen to children and young people, and to highlight issues that matter to them.\u00a0<strong><em>Its Your Right<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was a brilliant opportunity to combine all of these things. The children and the young people who took part in this project provide valuable insight into how children\u2019s rights are part of their day to day lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ombudsman for Children\u2019s Office created\u00a0<strong><em>Its Your Right<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to complement its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oco.ie\/childrens-rights\/workshops-and-seminars\/\">human rights education programme<\/a>, where schools visit the Office to learn about children\u2019s rights.\u00a0 The interactive application and\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/itsyourright.ie\/\">itsyouright.ie<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>feature extensive video, audio and photo elements as well as a full list and information on the rights of the child.<\/p>\n<p>Nikki added: \u201cWe were excited to work with the children and young people through a variety of digital media. It was a great opportunity to capture what they had to say about children\u2019s rights in their own words.
