It is manifestly contrary to children\u2019s best interests to allow the current legislative gap to persist.<\/p>\n<p>The Ombudsman for Children\u2019s Office hopes that today\u2019s judgment will provide a fresh impetus to the proposed legislation and that the Oireachtas will consider the matter as soon as possible.
