In a speech on 3 November, 2006, An Taoiseach announced his intention to hold a referendum on children\u2019s rights and that he had requested the Minister for Children, Brian Lenihan, to initiate a process of consultation and discussion with the other D\u00e1il parties and with all relevant interest groups.<\/p>\n

This report sets out the OCO\u2019s comments on the Bill in light of our advice to Government on this matter of 22 December 2006.
