Ireland is required to transpose into Irish law EU Directive 2012\/29\/EU establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime by the 16 November 2015. In light of this, the Minister for Justice and Equality published the General Scheme of the Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Bill 2015 (\u2018the General Scheme\u2019) on 14 July 2015.<\/p>\n

In accordance with the Ombudsman for Children\u2019s statutory mandate, this submission focuses on child victims of crime.
