In our 2020 Unmet Needs report, the OCO expressed concern that reforms to the AON process should not dilute or undermine children\u2019s statutory rights. The report emphasised the importance of a child-centred, rights-based approach to disability law, grounded in a holistic and multidisciplinary understanding of children\u2019s development and needs. It recommended structural reform of the 2005 Act to ensure that the statutory framework aligns with Ireland\u2019s obligations under the UNCRC and the UNCRPD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
