The Big Debate

International networks

The Ombudsman for Children Act 2002 obliges the OCO to engage and cooperate with the Ombudsman for Children (or equivalent) in other jurisdictions. To that end, the OCO is part of two networks: the British and Irish Network of Ombudsman and Children’s Commissioners (BINOCC) and the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC). Membership of these networks allows the OCO to exchange information with similar organisations in other countries regarding children’s rights issues and progress made in implementing the UNCRC.
