I’m the Ombudsman for Children. It’s a really big honour to be the person providing an independent voice for children and young people. My job is to make sure that people who make decisions about children and young people always consider what’s best for young people when they make these decisions.
My job is to make sure people know about the Office and our work. I work with the Ombudsman for Children and with the team in the Office to find interesting ways to let the public, children and young people, the government and other groups know about what we are doing. I am the media contact.

I make sure that all complaints that come into the Office are looked after in the best way possible. Sometimes when I see that a problem is faced by a lot of young people, I help to prepare submissions to the government and recommend a change in policy.

My job is about creating ways for children and young people to take part in the OCO's work and making sure that the OCO knows what's important to them. This involves working with children and young people, including the OCO's Youth Advisory Panel (YAP). My job is also about developing information and activities so children and young people can find out about the OCO's work and their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
I am part of the research and policy area of the OCO. My job is to make sure we comply with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Ireland.
